ICHIB-X2 Optical module Coding board - Power Supply description
The current ICHIB-X2 has a limited power supply capacity of 12A in total. Three custom expansion interfaces provide 5V3A and 3V 6A power carrying capacities
What you need to know:
The usb2.0 output is 5V 500ma
The USB3.0 output is 5V 900ma
Optical module development board power supply solutions for reference:
The first type directly connects the main control board with a single-head data cable, with a minimum requirement of USB2.0 (in this case, the current only supports SFP), or USB3.0.
The second uses a double USB power supply data line to connect a single data line and then the main control board, and the double USB is connected to the USB3.0 of the computer. Note If high-power optical modules are often used, two USB3.0 modules must be used.
Otherwise, the current cannot meet the operation of the optical module! There's a risk! (For example: 40G-100G ER,ZR and any model from 200G to 800G)
The third way is if you use TYPE-C. You can connect the main control board with TYPE-C data cable and TYPE-C to MINI-USB. The higher version of TYPC-c interface supports high current power supply, and the current test is normal, such as :QSFP-DD-400G-DF4
For the specific typ-c power supply capability, please check your related device information
The fourth is to directly use the power adapter, more secure. Recommended choice of power adapter, minimum: 5V3A DC power supply or greater current. Interface parameters: Outer diameter 5.5mm. Inner diameter 2.5mm.
The fifth is TYPE-C. You can connect the main control board with TYPE-C data cable and TYPE-C to MINI-USB, plus a power adapter。
Recommended choice of power adapter, minimum: 5V3A DC power supply or greater current. Interface parameters: Outer diameter 5.5mm. Inner diameter 2.5mm.
In this case, it is not necessary to consider the power supply capacity of type-c.
Select the power supply mode according to the type of optical module you test.
Attention! The code board is not waterproof, not incendiary, not anti-static. Remove static electricity before use.
And avoid short circuits... Do not pinch the part with the device... Pinch the edges no problem.
Friendly advice:
With TYP-C to TYP-C data line, it is recommended to buy with power display.
With USB to TYEP-C data line, it is recommended to buy with power display.
For desktop computers, it is recommended to add a PCI-related USB3.0 expansion card
